Oare Marshes

Oare Marshes is a wetland reserve near Faversham in Kent.  The reserve, managed by Kent Wildlife Trust, is located on the south bank of the Swale, a strip of sea that separates north Kent from the Isle of Sheppey.

My sister and I visited recently, arriving at low tide, whilst the causeway was visible and the morning mist still lingered.  The reserve seemed popular, particularly with people walking their dogs and with those who were watching, photographing or sketching the many birds which are found there, so it’s a bit surprising that I seem to have come away with a set of images that shows little evidence of human visitors!
